Eight great things to do in Yorba Linda

February 2nd, 2021

In the far northeast corner of Orange County sits Yorba Linda. Our beautiful little town is known for many things (perhaps most famously being that it’s the birthplace of Richard Nixon, which we’ll get to later!), but visitors don’t always know where to find the fun. That’s why we’ve put together this list! Whether you want to enjoy our famous California climate, dine on fine cuisine, or visit the Presidential Library, we’ve got you covered.

Disclaimer: As we all know, the past year has been unprecedented due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Many of the following activities and locations are not currently available because of measures put in place to keep us all safe. Please call ahead to any of the below recommendations to confirm that they are open to visitors.

Soak up the sun in Orange County

If there’s one thing people know about southern California, it’s our warm, near-perfect climate. These parks are the best places to spend time in the Yorba Linda outdoors.

Box Canyon Park

Not to be confused with Box Canyon Park of Ouray, Colorado, this cute little city park has a playground for the kids, a picnic area for a nice lunch, and a basketball court. With a lovely view of the adjacent Santa Ana foothills, this park is great for locals and visitors alike.

Hurless Barton Park

This city park has many of the amenities you would expect (picnic area, playground, restrooms, BBQs), but the real reason to come is for the amphitheater. Sunday nights in July and August, Hurless Barton Park hosts the free Yorba Linda Concerts in the Park series. Come out and beat the summer heat with a cool outdoor concert!

Vista Del Verde Park

If you’re looking for open spaces, Vista Del Verde Park is for you! The wide-open green space next to the traditional park structures is perfect for flying kites, driving RV cars, or just running around.

Enjoy the local cuisine

Gusto D’Oro Italian Cuisine

If you’re looking for classic Italian dishes served in a cozy, family ambiance, look no further than Gusto D’Oro. They have a wide selection of dishes and wines, and they’ve got you covered if you’re looking for vegan food in Yorba Linda!

Terra Wood-Fired Kitchen

By most measurements, pizza is America’s favorite food, which made finding a great pizza restaurant in Yorba Linda so important to us. We picked Terra Wood-Fired Kitchen for their Mediterranean-style, delicious, wood-fired pizzas. Plus, they’ve got plenty of wood-fired options that aren’t pizza!

Blue Agave

With our relatively close proximity to Mexico, it’d be wrong to not include a California take on Mexican cuisine. Blue Agave Southwest Grill has everything from queso to flautas to tacos to tamales to sopapillas to flan. And don’t miss their extensive margarita menu!

Other fun attractions

The Richard Nixon Library & Museum

As we mentioned above, Yorba Linda’s biggest claim to fame is its status as the birthplace of Richard Nixon. If you want to learn all about one of this country’s most famous and most controversial presidents, his Presidential Library and Museum is a great place to start.

Historic Yorba Cemetery

As one of the oldest cemeteries in Orange County, the Yorba Cemetary is a historical site well worth visiting. And for all you ghost hunters out there, make sure to read up on the legend of the Pink Lady, who is said to appear at the cemetery every June 15th!

Yorba Linda is the place to be!

The team here at Serento Rosa is extremely proud to be a part of the Yorba Linda community. This list is just a small sample of all the great things you can find to do in our city.
